Abalone Shell

Each shell is between 3” to 4” and showcases a unique blend of silvery white, pink, red, blue, green, and purple hues on the inside, potentially reflecting the abalone's diet. The outer shell is subtly striated and unassumingly dull, complementing the iridescent nacre that lines its interior.

With their convex, oval shapes that can either be highly arched or flat, abalone shells present an intriguing spectacle. When observed from above, you'll notice the respiratory pores running along the left side of the shell. Frequently, the mantle tissue adorns the inside of these pores, infusing them with a splash of colour.
