How many body care products do we use in a day? It's a LOT.
HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOW MANY BODY CARE PRODUCTS WE USE IN A DAY?
- Shaving Cream
- Body and Face Cream
- Nail Polish
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Styling Products
THE AVERAGE WOMAN ABSORBS OVER 14KG OF INGREDIENTS FROM FACE AND BODY-CARE PRODUCTS (EXCLUDING COSMETICS) INTO HER BLOODSTREAM OVER 60 YEARS.
What exactly is in these products? How can they have such long shelf lives? Could they be causing reactions or exacerbating acne or eczema?
By the time you are rushing out the door, you have swallowed, inhaled and absorbed hundreds of toxic chemicals. Aren’t we are already asking a lot of our immune systems?
We use beauty products to improve our image but often at the risk of long-term damage to our skin and our overall health. 95% of all personal care products on the market (cosmetics, hair care, personal hygiene, etc.) contain chemicals linked to cancer or skin disorders. The short term fix is not worth the long-term effects!
IF IT DOESN'T OCCUR IN NATURE, IT SHOULDN'T BE INSIDE OF YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A NATURAL BEING.
But by now we know that words like 'natural' or 'organic' can be tricky. Many companies will label their products as “Natural/Organic” though they still contain harmful synthetic chemicals. It's just that they have found clever ways to skirt around the full truth.
“Not a single cosmetic company warns consumers of the presence of carcinogens in its products - despite the fact that several common cosmetic ingredients or their contaminants are carcinogenic themselves or are carcinogenic precursors.”

ALL BEAUTY PRODUCTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL.
So how do we safely navigate the endless marketing gimmicks and false promises that we are told from the beauty industry? Short of moving to Europe where products are better regulated, here are some steps you can take to make informed choices that help to protect your health:
- Read labels on your beauty products just as you would food.
- If you can’t read/understand all the ingredients, don’t use it on your body.
- Learn and research the ingredients in products, especially the ones that are the most harmful. (Click here to read about a few we researched!)
IF YOU CAN’T EAT IT, DON’T USE IT!
...and to be clear we mean naturally grown, good for you ingredients!
Your health is all that you have. Tend to it, cherish it, and send it love by educating yourself and learning to take the best care of yourself.
